About The Artist

Sam, also know as Serpent Lady Art, is a self taught artist from Oregon. Sam has been creating art from her earliest memories with just about any medium you can imagine. In her early days, she used crayola markers and pencils at a small “art station” at her grandmothers house. She’s done everything from drawing to jewelry making to even once creating a bow and arrow from supplies around her house. Eventually, Sam settled on her preferred mediums of oil paint, acrylic paint, and alcohol based markers combined with pens. Many of her current pieces involve mixed media to bring her imagination to life!

Sam takes inspiration from everything in her life, cultivating art inspired by surrealism. Themes involving florals, anatomy, and of course snakes are found heavily influenced throughout her gallery. For many years she has struggled to cultivate a niche “style” within her art, and has ultimately discovered that her art is a reflection of her multifaceted personality and neurodivergent brain, and she wouldn’t want to place that into one box and limit her creativity. With that, she knows that all of her pieces may not resonate with you, but hopes that you’ll find joy in them as she has.

Now based in the central coast of California, Sam creates her art in between shifts at her full time job and spending time with her two adorable pups, Milo and Mahina. Years of being a “secret” artist and overcoming imposter syndrome have finally led to the creation of Serpent Lady Art and the pursuit of dreams to become a full time artist. Creating art has been the most constant thing in her life through adulthood, and has led her through battles with mental health and a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Every bit of this shop and these art pieces was created solely by Sam, and she is so thrilled to be putting a product she is proud of out to the world. Even if only one person purchases and finds happiness in her art, she is happy to know she can share her imagination with others.

“I am so grateful for your support, and I hope you can find as much peace and joy in my art as I have while creating it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to visit this site, you mean the world to me.”
